Former TMC Candidate Jahangir ‘Pushpa’ Khan Arrested Near Indo-Nepal Border

 

Panitanki, June 8: In a major development, the West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) on Monday arrested Jahangir Khan, widely known as ‘Pushpa’ and a former Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate from the Falta Assembly constituency, near the Indo-Nepal border in Panitanki.

According to official sources, Khan had been evading investigators for a considerable period and was being closely tracked by law enforcement agencies. Acting on specific intelligence, the STF launched a coordinated operation in border areas adjoining Nepal, with support from Nepal Police, leading to his apprehension.

After being detained, Khan was brought back into India through the Panitanki border crossing. Sources indicated that he is being transported to Kolkata under stringent security arrangements.

Investigators have described the arrest as a significant success, as Khan had allegedly remained beyond the reach of authorities for an extended period despite ongoing efforts to locate him.
