SSB Seizure of Suspected Morphine 186 Gram and Apprehension of Two Individuals

 

41 BN SSB, Coy Panitanki – Ranidanga

On 09 January 2026, acting on specific and credible intelligence, 41 Battalion SSB achieved a significant success against narcotics trafficking in the Panitanki–Ranidanga area.

At approximately 0845 hours, actionable intelligence was received from a Company Commander–level source regarding the likely delivery of a narcotics consignment near Dangar Bhita, Teen Tola Basti, close to the Charna Jote Forest area. Recognising the sensitivity and urgency of the information, a Special Quick Reaction Team (QRT) was immediately constituted.

Based on precise coordination and swift execution, the Special QRT conducted a targeted operation in the suspected area. At around 1030 hours, the team successfully intercepted the movement and seized suspected narcotic substance (brown sugar/morphine) weighing 186 grams, packed in two separate packets. The operation also led to the apprehension of two individuals involved in the illegal activity.

Follow-up Action

As per laid-down procedures under the NDPS Act, the seized suspected morphine along with the apprehended individuals will be handed over to Police Station Kharibari for further legal action and investigation.
